Cannot login to Shotgun Desktop: No such file or directory

We are suddenly experiencing Shotgun Desktop not working.

It gives us the following error when trying to login:

Sorry you hitting issues, that error is not very helpful at all!
Please could you submit a support ticket and attach your tk-desktop.log and we’ll take a look.

It’s solved.

Updated the Standalone API but since the addition of python 3 the location of the cacerts.txt has changed so our SHOTGUN_API_CACERTS variable was pointing to a non-existent file.

And that only updated when people restarted their machines due to Group Policy kicking in on restart.
